Ebook About
From the New York Times bestselling author of The Unhoneymooners and the “delectable, moving” (Entertainment Weekly) My Favorite Half-Night Stand comes a modern love story about what happens when your first love reenters your life when you least expect it…Sam Brandis was Tate Jones’s first: Her first love. Her first everything. Including her first heartbreak. During a whirlwind two-week vacation abroad, Sam and Tate fell for each other in only the way that first loves do: sharing all of their hopes, dreams, and deepest secrets along the way. Sam was the first, and only, person that Tate—the long-lost daughter of one of the world’s biggest film stars—ever revealed her identity to. So when it became clear her trust was misplaced, her world shattered for good. Fourteen years later, Tate, now an up-and-coming actress, only thinks about her first love every once in a blue moon. When she steps onto the set of her first big break, he’s the last person she expects to see. Yet here Sam is, the same charming, confident man she knew, but even more alluring than she remembered. Forced to confront the man who betrayed her, Tate must ask herself if it’s possible to do the wrong thing for the right reason… and whether “once in a lifetime” can come around twice. With Christina Lauren’s signature “beautifully written and remarkably compelling” (Sarah J. Maas, New York Times bestselling author) prose and perfect for fans of Emily Giffin and Jennifer Weiner, Twice in a Blue Moon is an unforgettable and moving novel of young love and second chances.

Book Twice in a Blue Moon Review :

The writing duo that I used to enjoy changed their writing style and it's definitely not my style or for me any longer.I used to really enjoy Christina Lauren 's reads ,I've been recommending their Beautiful Bastard series for years now ,I still will .I also enjoyed their Wild series but after that something changed and for me now sad to say their reads just are not my reading pleasure anymore. It started for me with Autoboyography and for me with that read and so many other that have followed I have been disappointed and surprised to tell you the truth . I tried ,I really tried, but after the last read The Unhoneymooner's I vowed to not read this duo any longer because I thought that read was so unoriginal and lame to be very honest.I didn't realize with this book that I must have hit automatic pre order release date delivery months before so it was on my kindle and I thought ",okay one more try ".Don't get me wrong, these books are not awful but they just got so young adult, so unoriginal, so"lame " "corny " "silly " and very cinderella -ish in a immature way. Seriously 80 percent of the characters that you start out with in this book are forgotten about.I would have liked to have heard more from Emma ,her relationship with her ex husband, heck even Nana,Luther ,seriously they would have made a better story I personally think.I'm a adult and I want a adult ,witty, fun reading time, the way Christina Lauren used to write. I was 1/3 rd into this read about a 18 year old girl on vacation with her nana, again so very young adult. Then the book jumps by 14 years and then it just gets unrealistic, over the top, with a weak storyline and the ending was so cliche that it just really annoyed me .I really hope I haven't pre ordered anymore Christina Lauren reads because they are going right back now ,with not one page being read. If I had a teenager in my house I would have let her read it but I don't and I'm not a teenager anymore so I'm so done with these silly ,sappy and unoriginal stories .What happened Christina Lauren? How did you go from Beautiful Stranger to this ?
I'm a huge Christina Lauren fan, but sadly I feel like their two most recent stories (The UnHoneymooners and Twice in a Blue Moon) have been their two weakest. While both stories have had really entertaining storylines, likeable characters, and CLo's quintessential witty and smart writing, they both have really seemed to be lacking something.**SPOILERS BELOW:In this case, with Twice in a Blue Moon, I felt like the ending left a lot to be desired. It was rushed and unsatisfying. It felt like the conflict at the end of the story did not serve much of a purpose other than to throw yet another wrench into Sam & Tate's relationship. Then, at the very end of the story, Tate finds out that Sam was in fact in love with her the entire 14 years they were apart (despite getting married during that time). Tate then decides to go to him in Vermont, they briefly reunite, and suddenly the conflict is over, everything is supposedly great, THE END. It just felt like after everything they had been through, and all of their time apart, it would have been nice for more of a conclusion. Perhaps an epilogue would have worked nicely, to see what their future looked like (did they split time between LA and Sam's farm? Did they get married & start a family? etc. etc.). Also, not gonna lie, I wish we could have seen Tate stick it to her Dad a little bit... I mean, it was admirable of her to try having a relationship with him again, but after being repeatedly let down and betrayed by him, I wish we could have seen Tate go public with the truth, establish her own narrative, and expose her Dad for the lying, selfish jerk that he was.Anyway, overall this was an entertaining read. I love CLo's writing style a lot, and they are wonderful at crafting a story. If the ending had been more developed & less rushed, this would have easily been a 4-5 star read for me.
